A dental implant is a small titanium screw that serves as the replacement for the root portion of a missing natural tooth. Dental implants can be placed in either the upper or lower jaws. Due to the biocompatible properties of titanium, a dental implant fuses with the bone and becomes a good anchor for the replacement tooth. Dental implants can be used in solutions for replacing single or multiple missing teeth.
Many people who consider implants have removable, conventional dentures for lower and upper jaws, or have removable bridges. These people experience a significant improvement in their ability to chew food comfortably after their dental implant treatment.
At the first appointment, we use 3D Cone Beam Imaging to determine if the jaw bone is adequate to hold the titanium posts.

Treatment with dental implants requires meticulous planning for best results.
When the permanent crown is ready (1-2 weeks normally), the temporary crowns are replaced.
A surgical procedure is required (using local anesthetic and sedative) in which precision channels are created in the jawbone, often using a surgical guide. The implants are then fitted into the sites so that they are in contact with the bone. They generally require two to six months to fuse to the bone before they can have tooth restorations attached to them to complete the process.
Immediately – at the same time an implant is placed (or after a period of healing), an abutment is attached to the implant. This is a device that “abuts” or joins the implant to a tooth form called a crown, which replaces the tooth part you see in the mouth.
The custom crown is cemented or screwed onto the abutment to permanently keep it in place and should be indistinguishable from your natural teeth.
When the permanent crown is ready (1-2 weeks normally), the temporary crowns are replaced.

Hi, I’m Alexander Sizak from Algonquin, Illinois. I’m one of those if it ain’t broke don’t fix it kind of guys. Well, sometimes teeth need fixing and I needed a filling, a crown replaced, and an implant. I haven’t been to a dentist for at least six years. Once again, if it ain’t broke… Well, I did some research online, I checked out multiple businesses – costs are really important to me as I don’t have any insurance but references and that old gut feeling played a major role in my final decision. As of right now I’m midway through the implant procedure. I’ve had a cleaning and x-rays, a filling and a crown replacement all in the last three months. So far, Dr. Khan and his staff; Paula, Lindsay, Jolene, Heidi – I hope I haven’t forgotten anyone; sorry if I did – have exceeded all expectations. VERY GOOD. Great customer service, great staff and most importantly Dr. Khan makes the dental procedure seamless. I had an implant done. Price was reasonable and the implant was success. Also, their schedule is great, allowing for visits on Saturdays and after hours, which is great for people with fixed work schedule.
Dr. Khan installed a dental implant in my jaw a couple of months ago, and I am extremely happy with the work. The procedure was completely pain-free, and the healing process has been going very smoothly. Dr. Khan created a temporary crown to attach to the post while the implant mends with the jawbone, which looks very real, and has been non-intrusive in my daily routine. This has been a huge advantage, as many other practices use a dental flipper, which I expect would not preserve gum structure as well, look less natural, and become an annoyance since it sits within a retainer that must be worn, and has to be taken out to eat. In a month or so, I will get the final crown to replace the temporary I have been wearing, and with the high-quality of work done so far and attention to detail, I expect it will look just like a real tooth. Dr. Khan has also been very helpful and understanding with answering my (many) questions and concerns about the procedure and materials used. Highly recommended!

I have had three implants and one bridge completed by Dr Khan. He is prompt, gracious, highly competent and patient. My implants where difficult because of lack of bone. We kept working at it until success was achieved. His staff is friendly and helpful. Any problems after surgery he is reachable by cell phone.
